Clear privacy for how Monologue works
Last updated: June 1, 2026
This policy explains what Monologue processes, why it is processed, and what choices you have when using the Monologue mobile app.
Summary
Monologue does not require an account to use its core features. It does not ask for your name, contact list, photos, precise location, or microphone access for the core app experience, and it does not record, store, or upload your spoken audio. It stores certain preferences locally on your device and uses Google Firebase services, including Analytics, Crashlytics, and Remote Config, to help operate, maintain, and improve the app.
Information you provide
You may choose settings inside the app, such as language and reminder preferences. Those preferences are stored primarily on your device. If you contact us by email, we will process the information you include so we can respond to your request.
Information processed automatically
When you use the app, Monologue and its service providers may process app usage data such as screen views and interactions, crash and diagnostic data such as crash logs, device model, operating system version, app version, and technical identifiers used by Firebase services, and limited network information needed to deliver app content, app configuration, and service notices. Monologue does not request your precise location, but service providers may infer an approximate region from technical signals such as IP address.
Permissions and device features
Monologue may ask for permission to send reminder notifications. Reminder schedules and similar preferences are stored on your device. The app may also retrieve app content and configuration needed to operate certain features and to show maintenance or update messages.
How we use information
We use processed information to operate and secure the app, deliver content and configuration, support reminder and service-related functionality, understand general product usage, diagnose crashes, and improve stability and user experience.
Sharing and third parties
Monologue uses third-party service providers, including Google Firebase, to support analytics, crash diagnostics, and app configuration. These providers may process data on our behalf as part of delivering the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Tracking and advertising
Monologue is not designed for targeted advertising and is not intended to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Retention and security
Preferences and other data stored locally on your device remain there until you remove them, clear app storage, or delete the app. Analytics, diagnostics, and support communications may be retained for a limited period in line with provider settings, legal obligations, and operational needs. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children's privacy
Monologue is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app's core experience. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights related to access, correction, deletion, or objection. Because Monologue does not use user accounts for its core experience, we may need additional details from you to identify relevant records. You can disable notifications in your device settings and remove local app data by clearing app storage or deleting the app.
